Getting started and day-to-day use

Open any walkthrough for the steps.

How do I find a coach inside the app?
  1. Open Home → Coaching → I’m Looking for a Trainer.
  2. Choose ProxyFit Online Training for coaching through ProxyFit, or Independent Trainer to choose your own coach.
  3. For independent trainers, search by name, specialty, location, or language. Open a profile to check their background and whether they coach online or in person.
  4. Already know a coach? Enter their full Trainer Code in the search field, then tap Find Exact Trainer Code. You can also open their shared profile link. This works for unlisted coaches too.
How do I apply, and when do I pay?
  1. For an independent coach, open their profile and tap Apply for Coaching. For ProxyFit Online Training, open its page and choose the application option.
  2. Complete the questionnaire with your goals, experience, equipment, availability, and relevant limitations. Submit it for the coach to review.
  3. Check your application status in the app. Discuss the service and any questions with the coach before starting.
  4. For ProxyFit Online Training, acceptance comes before the in-app subscription step. For an independent coach, agree on pricing and payment directly with that coach. Their service does not require the $49.99 ProxyFit Online Training subscription.

Independent coaching does not automatically include Premium. Check the plan comparison for Premium history, analytics, routine, and AI scan benefits.

What should I expect once coaching starts?
  • A training plan: assigned workouts and programs you can open from your coaching workspace.
  • A way to check in: weekly updates about training, recovery, and how you feel.
  • Feedback: chat, comments on completed training, and form-video reviews when you share a clip.
  • A record of progress: goals, training results, progress photos, and optional meal and health records.

Agree with your coach on your schedule, the services included, response expectations, and how often your plan will be reviewed. Independent coaches choose their own service scope.

How do I follow the plan and send updates?
  1. Open your coaching workspace from Home and view your assigned workouts. Check the next session, scheduled date, and exercise instructions.
  2. Log the exercises through the normal Workout flow and finish with Complete Workout. Your coach can review the results linked to the assignment.
  3. Submit your Weekly Check-In, share a progress photo or form video when useful, and use Chat for questions.
  4. Return to completed workouts and meal entries to read replies. A notification or ! helps point you toward updates.

For form feedback, videos can be up to 30 seconds each, with up to 4 saved at a time. Delete an older clip when you need space for another.

Can my coach help with meals and health records?

Yes. Your assigned coach can review the meal and health records you enter, leave a reply on a meal, and help set daily calorie and macro targets. Use Nutrition & Health to record only the information you want to track.

Setup, visibility, and client management

How do I apply to become a coach?
  1. Open Home → Coaching → I’m a Personal Trainer.
  2. Complete the trainer application. Add your name, location, coaching format, specialties, languages, experience, bio, and any qualifications or profile photo you want to provide.
  3. Choose whether you want the option to appear in the public trainer directory, then submit the application for review.
  4. Once trainer access is approved, open the Trainer Dashboard and edit your trainer profile. Trainer access approval and public-listing approval are separate.
What does appearing in the public list mean?

A published profile can be discovered in Coaching → I’m Looking for a Trainer → Independent Trainer. People can read your public profile and send you an application.

  1. Complete your profile with the information you want potential clients to see, such as your photo, bio, specialties, languages, and location.
  2. Use Submit for Public Listing to request publication. ProxyFit reviews public listings separately from trainer access.
  3. Check the profile status and review messages in the app. Profile updates may need another review before they appear publicly.

The directory publishes your trainer profile, not your clients’ private logs. A listing lets people find your independent service; it does not make you part of the ProxyFit Online Training team or automatically assign clients to you.

Can I coach my own clients without a public listing?

Yes. Keep your profile unlisted, save it, and share your Trainer Code or profile link directly with clients. They can enter the code in the Independent Trainer search and tap Find Exact Trainer Code, even if you do not appear in the directory.

Ask clients to open your profile and apply. Review their application in your dashboard and accept them to activate the independent coaching relationship. Agree on your services and payment directly with the client.

What can I see and do for my client?
What you can review and do for an assigned client
Client information Coaching tools
Workouts and programs Build, schedule, and adjust assignments. Review completed exercises, sets, reps, weights, and client notes; leave feedback.
Check-ins and goals Review weekly answers, track goals, comment on progress, and mark a check-in reviewed or complete.
Meals and health Review logged meals and health values, reply to meals, and set daily calorie and macro targets. Clients enter their own meal and health records.
Photos and form videos Review progress photos and submitted form clips, then provide feedback. Form clips are up to 30 seconds, with 4 saved at a time.
Messages and updates Chat with the client and use their workspace, alerts, and calendar to follow coaching activity.

These tools apply to clients connected to you through coaching. Publishing a trainer profile does not expose client records to people browsing the directory.

How do I organize ongoing coaching?
  1. Open the client from your dashboard. Review the application, goals, recent results, and alerts.
  2. Use workout templates or programs to build a plan. Assign workouts, set dates, and group sessions into training blocks. Adjust the plan as the client progresses.
  3. Review completed training, weekly check-ins, form clips, and any meal or health records the client uses. Add feedback and discuss changes in chat.
  4. Use the dashboard and calendar to see upcoming sessions and work that needs attention. Reusable templates help you prepare plans for more than one client.
What do the dashboard colors mean?
  • Green, All set: the client is up to date with no current action highlighted.
  • Blue, Action needed: routine coaching work is waiting, such as a new assignment or a check-in.
  • Red, Problem: an issue needs attention, such as payment or overdue training.
  • Purple, New application: a new client application is waiting for review.

Read the reasons shown on the client card and use the dashboard’s ? for the detailed criteria.
